Welcome to Sit, Dammit!

Having fun

Sit, Dammit! offers positive training for dogs, puppies and their people

We believe that you chose your dog for companionship, and that you and your dog - as team - should enjoy training together. Sit, Dammit! helps you create a loving working relationship with your dog that will result in having a happy, obedient dog  that you can enjoy.

Your goal(s) might be taking an enjoyable walk without being dragged around, having guests arrive without being jumped on or bitten, and keeping your dog safe. All those positive situations result from you and your dog learning commands and applying them to create results you want.

Because each dog is different, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to training at Sit, Dammit!.  We evaluate each dog individually with its owner so that the obedience training opportunities presented  to them are the right fit. We passionately believe the first step in successful training is a thorough evaluation; thus there is never a charge for this evaluation.

Sit, Dammit! offers individual and group classes, as well as in-home training. We always welcome those who contact us and wish to observe a training session.

Puppy classes are the window of opportunity that help you and your new addition avoid behavioral problems (such as jumping, biting, chewing, running away from you).  They also help your pet become well-socialized and learn.  It is much easier to teach an appropriate behavior than change an inappropriate one. Participants in this six-week program are eligible for AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy recognition.

Basic Obedience is a six-week class  that includes learning and executing the commands "heel," “sit,” “down.” “stay,” and “come,” while dealing with distractions.  At the end of this class, participants are tested for the Canine Good Citizen program, and those who pass are recognized  by the AKC.

Advanced obedience is for those owners and handlers interested in participating  at a higher level with their dog and or participating in obedience dog competitions with their dogs.  These classes also run for six-weeks and include Rally.

Specialized classes are available to address specific problems or issues.
